I had reservations about the BRT project

Because this is a third-generation project. It will have a huge impact in Peshawar. Traffic Problems The road leading to Torkham will eliminate traffic problems. This is a modern transport system for Peshawar, the first phase of development is to provide modern transport.

I congratulate Pervez Khattak. I would like to pay tribute to the completion of the project. In the beginning, we had reservations about the project, but we were wrong. The rent of Rs. 10 to 50 for the project is great. The rent is affordable for everyone.

Our first priority is to improve the life of the common man, less BRT tickets will be a great blessing for the workers and laborers, students. Keep a low priced ticket for students too. Going to the hospital through BRT will also be better for the people. This 27 km track is covering the entire city. It will bring prosperity. BRT buses are hybrid buses, it will also reduce pollution.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the Peshawar bus transit project is still incomplete. Work on 3 depots of BRT, commercial plaza, and cycle stand track could not be completed, only 6 out of 32 cycle stations could be completed. The BRT project was launched in 2017 under former Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. The inauguration date was given eight times and was estimated to cost Rs 49 billion, but the project was completed at a cost of over Rs 71 billion.

If we talk about the utility of the project, the main corridor of BRT is 27 km long from Chamkani to Karakhano crossing while 5 off-corridor routes from different parts of the city also meet the main corridor. The Kohat Ada Shah Alam of Corridor link on Charsadda Road is 18 km long while the Chamkani Pushtkho Chowk section is up to 19 km long.

The project also includes a system for bicycles. According to the CEO of Bus Transit Peshawar, the company had a fleet of 200 diesel hybrid air-conditioned buses that would cover 59 km of central and off-corridor routes. 360 buses have been purchased for According to the CEO, the BRT project also includes express service which will stop at only 7 stations on the main corridor while regular bus service will be available at all stations.

In terms of fare, passengers will have to pay Rs 10 for every 5 km, while the fare for every 5 km will increase to Rs 5. The journey from Chamkani to Kara Khano Crossing will cost Rs 35 per passenger. Officials said 10,000 ZBRT cards have also been distributed free of cost to residents.
